Submission Guidelines
Submissions should be sent via e-mail as an attachment or in the body of the message.
For www.inkemetic.org: We seek to publish quality material, scholarly or "opinion" pieces, pertaining specifically to Ancient Egypt and the modern practice of the religion from whence the worship of the Neteru comes to us: ruminations on that worship grounded in the actions and practices of ancient peoples; essays on the concepts of culture, society, religion, upon which the ancient worship was based; and examinations of those concepts and their survival into modern times. We also publish poetry and fiction of quality inspired by the experience of Kemeticism, as well as thoughtful and insightful essays on current issues pertinent to the Kemetic community. Additionally, book reviews (as detailed as possible) are most welcome.
Naturally, any articles, essays, etc. presented as factual or researched must provide references in endnotes, bibliographies, etc. Please use MLA style for bibliographical listings and quotations. Recommended and further reading lists are welcome. A brief biography of the author may accompany submissions. You may also include brief contributor statements and contact info (p. o. boxes, e-mail addresses, URLs, etc.) for publication, if you desire. Please indicate what can and cannot be published. Please define terms and concepts that may be unfamiliar to others either in the text or in endnotes. We ask that you submit your work in modern English; words and phrases in in other languages, ancient or modern, are acceptable, provided they are translated within the text or in endnotes. Submissions for the INK website are accepted on an on-going basis.
For INKed: The INK newsletter will contain information on INK, on temples, houses, and schools, as well as short articles, commentary, reviews, announcement of events, classes and workshops, new and republished books, and other items of interest to Kemetics. Advertising space will be available. The newsletter will appear in .pdf format posted to the INK discussion forum for members of INK. It may also be posted to other lists, will be sent via email to those requesting it, and will be available in hardcopy for the price of postage. This is also a call for submissions of all kinds! Make your articles rather short, please-- 300 to 500 words (longer articles up to 1000 may be accepted. We would like to remain at no more than 5 double-sided letter-size sheets in hardcopy). Send anything else you think would be of interest. Tell us how you'd like it credited, etc.
